Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service Demonstration
The Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service patrols beaches from Rainbow Bay to Rainbow Beach and carries out surveillance, shark warnings, preventative actions, missing person searches and rescues. The service is also used for emergency response, searches and rescues, working in conjunction with emergency service organisations including the Queensland Police Service, Australian Maritime Safety Authority, and Queensland Fire & Emergency Services.
Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service was founded in 1976. This is a free service is the communities eyes in the sky. The helicopter is crewed by 25 volunteer aircrew and rescue crew officers, available 24/7 for emergency services. These volunteers dedicate their time to this vital community service and keep our Queensland beaches safe.
