Pacific Airshow Gold Coast to Feature Cutting-Edge F-35A Lightning II and More
Pacific Airshow Gold Coast is set to deliver an unforgettable experience this year with the exciting addition of the Royal Australian Air Force’s newest fighter jet, the F-35A Lightning II.
This advanced aircraft will perform two full demonstrations, one on Saturday and another on Sunday of the event.
The F-35A Lightning II is renowned for its stealth, speed and agility, representing the forefront of military aviation as the latest 5th generation fighter jet.
This marks the first time the F-35 will perform a full handling display on the Gold Coast, offering a rare opportunity for the public to witness the power and precision of this state-of-the-art aircraft up close.
Adding to the excitement, the F-35 will join an already impressive lineup, which includes the United States Air Force Pacific Air Force’s F-22 Raptors and the RAAF Super Hornet.
In addition to the aerial displays, the event will welcome Nitro Circus, co-founded by iconic superstar Travis Pastrana. Known for its electrifying live events, Nitro Circus will feature FMX shows at the southern end of the precinct after the airshow each day.
The Queensland Fire Department will also be showcasing their air operations this year. Their display will include water bombing aircraft, demonstrating essential techniques used in combating bushfires. Spectators will see two AT-802 Air Tractors, a Bell 214 rotary water bombing helicopter and Air Attack Supervisor Mark Haddow in action.
Furthermore, a new four-year partnership with the Southport Flying Club has been announced. The club, a key supporter of the Pacific Airshow Gold Coast, will host 23 performing aircraft this year, including the famed Yak 110. They will provide essential storage, refuelling and support services for the aircraft and crews involved in the airshow. The Southport Flying Club’s extensive experience and commitment to aviation safety are invaluable assets to the event.
